Andrew Zobler is the Founder & CEO of the Sydell Group, the hospitality company that is known for creating and managing unique hotels deeply rooted in their location and architecture. A pioneer in the hospitality sphere, Zobler's core expertise is an ability to identify and collaborate with original talent within the world of design, food & beverage, and culture and bring them together in the creation of compelling new hotels that engage the communities around them.
Founded by Andrew Zobler in 2005, Sydell Group has ever since been creating award winning hotels, restaurants, and bars that are beloved by travelers and locals alike. Sydell Group conceived and created NoMad New York, NoMad Los Angeles, NoMad London, and NoMad Las Vegas; The Line LA, The Line DC, The Line Austin, and The Line San Francisco; Freehand Miami, Freehand New York, Freehand Chicago, and Freehand Los Angeles; The Ned, London in collaboration with Ron Burkle and Soho House & Co; Park MGM, Las Vegas in collaboration with MGM Resorts International; Saguaro Palm Springs and Saguaro Scottsdale. Sydell Group recently launched the Penny Williamsburg in New York and is developing several new NoMad hotels in the US and in Europe as well the NoMad Wynwood Residences in Miami with The Related Companies. Each of the properties has been widely celebrated for their site-specific uniqueness, compelling food & beverage offerings, vibrant public spaces, and overall focus on design and culture.
Prior to founding Sydell Group, Zobler served as Partner and Chief Investment Officer of André Balazs Properties, and as a Principal in the Managing Member of the real estate fund Lazard Freres Real Estate Investors, LLC. Zobler joined Lazard from Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where as Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Development he was responsible for overseeing acquisitions across all Starwood brands in North America.
Named one of the 50 Most Influential People in global business by Bloomberg Businessweek, Andrew Zobler has received numerous awards and honors including the Hospitality Design Platinum Circle Award and the AHEAD Americas 2018 Award for Outstanding Contribution. He was also recognized by AFAR Magazine in their 2018 Travel Vanguard as one of nine “visionaries who are shaping the future of travel.”
